Asus Eee Pc 701 Audio Driver
Important 1: The XP setup told me later that he cannot find the first file he tried to copy (BOOTVID.DLL). I first thought that XP cannot access my stick anymore but simply the file was missing. Maybe the MultiBoot has caused this error, but anyway. I booted Windows again and went to the source XP directory 'I386' and copied the whole content (including subdirs) to the USB-stick.

The I386-directory can be found on the USB stick in some '$'-directory. I skipped the files that were already present - so it took only 1 minute or so.
My friend gave me this computer to see if i can format and reinstall windows XP in his ASUS 701 EEEPC. Apparently its crashing and have all sorts of problems. Anyway, i have formatted and installed XP lots of time on my desktop and laptops, all of which have CDROMs in it. This one doesnt have it. Also as it has smaller harddrive and all, so i think i need to install a strip down version of XP in it. He doesnt have any software, but i have an original Windows XP which i could use to strip it down. But what software i need to do that?
Also after that do i install XP via USB stick? Also i guess after reinstalling XP, can i get the system drivers from Asus website? So could some please let me know how i go about it? Thanks, Any links, help would be appreciated. On a netbook, it's a good idea to disable System Restore as it takes a lot of space. I didn't bother removing very many drivers, they're not huge anyway.
You can remove anything you want as long as you don't need it - nLite prevents you from removing things if you say you need them. I removed all the languages except English New Zealand (you can't remove English US) and all keyboard layouts except US International. See for flash drive instructions. EDIT: Speedy, Eee's can boot from flash drives if they are bootable.
