The Sigma 500 Super flash has a built in optical slave. The Nikon SB-26 flash evidently also has a built in optical slave. Are you aware of any other battery powered, hotshoe based, flash unit(s) that also have a built in optical slave trigger? And, I also realize that there are optical slave adapters that can be used with sundry hotshoe based flash units. But, please keep the replies focused on the exact question above. I would like to compile a list of battery powered, hotshoe based flash units that have an integrated optical slave trigger.Enjoy! Curtis N wrote:The has such a feature. And in manual or slave mode, you can adjust the power from full to 1/64 in 1 stop increments. Also the Promaster FTD 7000M which is a 35mm film TTL model. As far as I know, Promaster products are only sold in camera shops in the US.Curtis,Thank you for your kind help.I just looked at the specs for the Promaster 7500DX and the Promaster FTD 7000M at the Promaster website. In the specs for the Promaster FTD 7000M it specifically mentions, “built in wireless slave remote operation”, and on the Promaster 7500DX it indicates, 'and remote slave function”. But, it does not specifically indicate an optical slave. Most likely this is the optical slave function you mention, but is there any chance these slave features are accomplished by some other means (than an optical flash burst).I want my list to be accurate. The Promaster FTD 5200 and FTD 5400 Electronic Flash mentions “or as a background slave unit”. Wonder if they have a built in optical slave?Enjoy! Curtis N wrote:I own the 7500DX and have used its optical slave function many times, so that I can attest to.

Sorry I have no first-hand knowledge of the other models mentioned.Curtis,Again, thanks you for you help. With an optical slave and robust manual power control. The Promaster 7500DX looks like a very viable unit.Promaster typically does not make the gear they sell, and since you have one, any guess on who might actually make the Promaster 7500DX, or if the same unit might be marketed under a different brand elsewhere?Enjoy!
